John Walkenbach's Excel Bible books are really superb and I want to recommend them. I learned many things, but here are three that were helpful: Got clarity on Match/Index the successor to Vlookup, applied Data Validation techniques, and utilized the Consolidate feature of Pivot Tables that allows a user to interact with three different sources for one pivot table at once. I use Excel 2013 and read his book about the same, but he has stuff out there for prior versions and Excel 2016.

In the interest of transparency, I am not getting a cut of sales, have no financial interest in his work, and want to pay it forward to all the great people at FENG.

Best,
