Agenda:
Join our next FENG Charlotte virtual meeting on February 17th. This month’s meeting, we are teaming up with BENG (Business Executives Networking Group) as our topic is applicable to all executives who are interviewing in our current virtual world.

Together we will host a panel of well qualified Executives and SME’s to address several topics including, but not limited to, “interviewing in a Zoom world” and “Tips for getting your resume in the right hands” and “Tips for applying through Applicant Tracking Systems”.

Our panel will consist of:

Brian Johnson
Brian Johnson is the Manager, Talent Acquisition and Diversity at Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI). Brian earned his undergraduate accounting degree from West Virginia University and his Masters in Tax from Virginia Tech. He spent his early career in public accounting but has been on the recruiting and talent acquisition end of business since 1996 with senior positions with Spherion, Pelican Professional Partners and Bank of America before joining EPRI in 2012. Brian and EPRI have hired around 100 employees during the 2020 pandemic and exclusive used virtual interviewing with minor exceptions for laboratory new hires.

Suzanne Baranski
Suzy is a Partner with Vaco. As a former Big 4 accountant and North Carolina native, Suzanne uses her industry knowledge and deep network to find players in the accounting and finance field and match them with their dream job. She strives to be a good friend, partner, and an adviser to everyone she works with internally and externally. Outside of the office, you can catch her walking her two Siberian huskies, or sipping cocktails on the patio of her local Charlotte hot spots. Suzy earned her undergraduate degree from Appalachian State and her Masters in Accounting from NC State.

Scott Nevins ([email protected])
Scott is a Principal at Bernstein Private Wealth Management. His clients include high net worth individuals, family offices, foundations and endowments. He has been at Bernstein for 15 years. Prior to Bernstein, Scott was a CEO to seven early-to-mid stage financial service / technology service companies over a 20+ year period. He began his career at GE Capital. Scott is an experienced Zoomer. He reinvented his practice using Zoom when the pandemic began. He teaches a program called “Rainmaking Using Zoom” on a daily basis to groups of 1-250 people. The program focuses on “setting up your Zoom studio”, “learning how to become a more effective Zoom attendee/presenter” and “how to successfully network using Zoom”. He does not charge for the program – it is one of the many ways he gives back to the community. Scott is on ten different boards including ACG and AIF (CT’s largest angel group). Scott earned his undergraduate degree in Math and Computer Science from Fairfield University.

We will be asking each attendee to give a 30 second introduction so that everyone has an idea who is on the Zoom.
