Topic: Improvement is a Team Sport

Presenter: Tom West, Founder of the Green Dot Consulting Group and Host of the Improvement Nerds Podcast

Presentation Overview/Objectives:
During the session, participants will hear first hand how Tom has used the concepts of continuous improvement to help drive business transformation, while delivering measurable results in culture, leadership, finance, quality, and experience. The secret ingredient is one key word "empowerment". To empower others, is to afford them the opportunity to contribute by driving accountability, but also by pouring into them the skills they need, and the confidence they need to make and lead change. For empowerment to happen, everyone, at all levels of the organization need to have a common improvement language, be disciplined in what they prioritize, have high levels of trust in each other, and stay flexible - learning as they go.

The presentation will cover 3 core topics:
1). Creating alignment and line of sight
2). Positioning leaders to serve others by acting as a coach
3). Equip everyone with an improvement toolbox

Speaker's Bio:
Tom helps organizations drive improvement through waging war on bad process. Tom's primary belief is that people don't show up to do a bad job, but in most cases their ability to create and make an impact are hindered by poor processes. As a self-proclaimed "improvement nerd", Tom seeks to make improvement approachable, fun, and humane. Ultimately, Tom wants to provide others with the tools, skills, and mindset they need to make and lead change.
