As many of you have surmised, with the coronavirus lockdown still largely in place in California and San Diego, we have canceled our May meeting. We had canceled our April meeting, held off on May to see how events developed, and decided to cancel it.
For our June meeting, unless new CV-19 cases in California fall close to zero and the governor ends almost all social distancing practices, it is likely that we will plan to do a virtual meeting. Our scheduled speaker for June is a very well-known economist who is over 80 years old; and we also have a few of us frequent attendees who are members in our 60s or 70s; we would not want to do anything to endanger anyone’s health or life. So... stay tuned for future announcements about the June meeting.
I hope everyone is staying healthy and safe, and taking advantage of this unusual time to get things done creatively and to re-connect with people in different -- and caring -- ways.
