Agenda:
Thursday, December 10, 2020, 4:00PM to 5:00PM EST there will be a Chat with Matt Zoom Meeting. I will be interviewing Jeff Constable, Co-leader, of Korn Ferry’s Global Financial Officers Practice. Our conversation will center around the CFO role from Korn Ferry’s perspective.

I am planning to begin by having Jeff discuss his own background and career story, some of his early transitions, his long tenure in one place, and then his most recent experience being recruited to Korn Ferry. (Yes, even recruiters change jobs.)

Some broad points we will cover:

1. The current state of the CFO role
2. The mind of the CFO from a Korn Ferry perspective
3. Trends affecting the CFO function
4. Financial officer recruiting
5. The link between the CFO role and the Board
6. How to get on a Board
7. Best practices around engaging with recruiters/search firms
8. Q&A

About Jeff Constable, Senior Client Partner, Co-leader, Global Financial Officers Practice:

Jeff Constable is a Senior Client Partner, based in the firm’s New York office. He leads the firm’s Financial Officers Practice in North America and co-leads it globally.

Jeff joined Korn Ferry in October 2020 following nearly 18 years at another of the world’s top five executive search and leadership advisory firms. In his prior firm, Jeff was a longstanding partner and core member of that firm’s Financial Officer and Financial Services practices, and at points in his career also held the positions of Philadelphia office managing partner and audit committee chair.

Jeff has broad executive search and leadership advisory experience, serving a range of client organizations across industries. He has advised public and private, large cap and middle-market clients in their searches for chief financial officers, board directors, and other senior leaders.

Beyond his core executive search work, Jeff has experience working closely with corporate boards, investment firms and family offices that are undergoing leadership transitions, talent assessments and succession planning processes within their organizations.

Prior to launching his career in executive search and leadership consulting in 2001, Jeff worked at CEB, where he was instrumental in the formation and early growth of the company’s CFO network. Earlier, Jeff was a banker with Bank of America and an award-winning high school mathematics teacher.

Jeff serves on the advisory board of NewSpring Holdings, a middle-market private equity investment firm. He holds an undergraduate degree in mathematics from Duke University and a M.B.A. from the University of Michigan.

If you have any questions you would like me to ask Jeff, please send them to me at: [email protected]
