Agenda:
Thursday, January 7th at 4PM EST, there will be a Chat with Matt featuring Peggy Bud.

As my guest on Thursday, I will be interviewing Peggy Bud, noted communication expert. Our conversation will be about “Skillfully Participating in Zoom Calls.”

Peggy Bud (aka “The Boss”), acquired her initial knowledge about networking and resumes from sitting in my office after dinner and eavesdropping on my conversations with our many members. Originally a speech pathologist by trade and subsequently a school administrator for many years, Peggy started her own business several years ago and has reinvented herself so many times I have lost count.

In addition to developing and servicing her own clients, pre-Covid-19, Peggy attended our chapter meetings in Westport. She has spoken on communication issues at the New York City chapter and through Zoom at other chapters around the country. Over the past 4 years, she has been helping me with The FECG, taking on the very detailed process involved in reviewing the many resumes that come in for our assignments before I review them.

Over the past few years she has spoken on:

- Communication: Bridging the Gender Divide and Generation Divide
- Speaking Skillfully: Attributes of Effective Communication
- Conscious Versus Unconscious Bias: Its Impact in the Workplace
- Upping Your Professional Image Virtually

She was interviewed by Tim Hughes, author of “Social Selling: Techniques to Influence Buyers and Changemakers” on the subject of: The Dos and Don’ts of Video Conferencing.

In our session on Thursday, Peggy and I will discuss:

- How to Have a Virtual Handshake and Build Connections
- Technical Challenges of Zoom – Audio/Visual, Lighting/Background Issues
- Importance of a Pleasant Face – The Unblinking Eye
- Physical Appearance – Looking Professional
- Staying in Your Real Estate

Peggy is a virtual communication expert. She teachers clients Effective Communication strategies and techniques by using her knowledge of neuroscience. She provides customized coaching and training; enhancing written and oral communication and developing listening skills. She provides unconscious bias training to Private Equity Firms to help them build a diverse, inclusive and equitable organization. Clients come from a variety of industries (medical, legal, financial, insurance, engineering, and education). She has spoken at National Conferences, Women’s Summits, Rotary Clubs and Libraries. She has a BS from Indiana University and a MS and 6th Year from Southern Connecticut State University. She is a licensed Speech/Language Pathologist and School Administrator with 25+ years’ experience in public education. (www.PeggyBud.com)
