Topic: Interest Rate and FX Risk Management for Companies, and Professional Services/Business Tax mitigation with Cash Balance Plans
John Wyatt will cover how to manage interest rate risk and FX for all size companies. The speaker will discuss identifying and measuring exposure, developing and implementing strategies to mitigate risk, and ongoing monitoring of interest rate risk and FX risk. Successfully understanding these principles can potentially ensure protecting profits by minimizing losses from currency fluctuations and stabilizing cash flows helps protect profit margins. Also, improving financial planning and forecasting by predictability in financial planning and budgeting is enhanced by interest and FX risk management. Most importantly interest and FX risk management can support the overall financial health of the company and enhance the value of the company. With more than 15 years of experience in commercial interest rate risk mitigation and FX solutions John will provide insight into the different ways companies manage these problems successfully.
Andrew Sessions is an expert in the corporate retirement planning industry, with over a decade of experience working with business owners to build and maintain a retirement plan benefit. With experience as a financial advisor and a consultant, Andrew currently serves the industry with FuturePlan by Ascensus, the nation’s largest Third-Party Administrator. Andrew and his team specialize in implementing and administering 401(k), 403(b), Cash Balance, Defined Benefit, and Non-Qualified Retirement Plan options. Cash balance plans are becoming an increasingly appealing retirement savings option for health care professionals, legal professionals, and other business owners seeking to catch up on retirement savings or even accelerate their retirement timeline if it makes sense based on their circumstances. Using a cash balance plan can potentially reduce taxes by tens of thousands of dollars per year by deferring them to the future upon retirement.

John Wyatt is an Executive Director with the Commercial Rates & FX Solutions group and is based in Charlotte, N.C. He joined the bank in 2006 and has over fifteen years of Capital Markets experience.
John is currently responsible for marketing and structuring interest rate risk management solutions for commercial clients in North & South Carolina. Previous roles include covering
commercial clients across the Central US covering twenty states ranging from Ohio to Montana and Louisiana to New Mexico; prior to Central US coverage, John worked with institutional
clients to implement customer hedging programs and manage balance sheet risk.
John obtained a B.S. degree in business administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
