Agenda:

3/3/22– Bergen Chapter Virtual Meeting – “Create a Culture of Agreements” - 6:30pm – 8:30pm – Jeff Harmon speaker

The world works primarily based on unspoken or unclear expectations. Expectations are those thoughts that we have about how something should go or about how someone would behave.
Agreements, on the other hand, are created and live in a conversation between two people or a group.

The combination of operating from expectations and a team with a diversity of ideas and perspectives is a recipe for disappointment, misalignment and less than optimal performance.  When an organization is small these can be addressed and the impact mitigated; however, as an organization grows, these become more difficult to address and create dysfunction that significantly impacts the team’s ability to achieve its goals.

The goal of “Create a Culture of Agreements” is to facilitate a shift from individual and/or collective expectations to conversations where they create agreements on the areas that drive the success of the team and the organization.

The intended outcomes from the workshop with the SwanBio leadership team are:
• An understanding of the practice of agreements and eliminating unclear or unspoken expectations
• A set of core agreements for each participant to start using in their leadership context
• Preparation and equipping of team members to bring the practice of agreements to their teams
