Kevin Silk will share his inspirational journey of overcoming the challenges of a debilitating illness to excel in his career - starting as a staff accountant at EY and rising to become a CEO of a global business.   He will share the lessons learned about transforming our thinking about limitations to unlock our true potential, how to develop a winning mindset by understanding our inner critic and challenging our boundaries, and finally the importance of being proactive about building resilience in ourselves and our teams to drive sustainable performance.
 

Speaker's bio:  

Kevin Silk is an Executive Coach and Business Advisor with nearly 40 years of experience as a global business leader.

Kevin’s career and life have not been easy.  At the young age of 16 he found himself exhausted, in chronic pain, and literally wasting away from severe weight loss.  He would later learn that he was suffering from Crohn’s disease, an incurable, debilitating condition that would impact his life in ways he could not imagine.  

Despite the extensive challenges of his illness, he would go on to hold global leadership roles as CEO, COO, and CFO, with a diverse background in privately held businesses, venture-backed startups, and executive positions in large corporations. Throughout his career, Kevin has coached and developed hundreds of individuals, built global businesses organically and through acquisitions, joint ventures, and strategic partnerships. He has been instrumental in numerous successful exits and has worked closely with founders to maximize the value of their businesses.  His work spans a wide range of industries including advertising, financial and healthcare software, fashion and consumer insights, and Ecommerce.

In his Executive Coaching practice Kevin combines his years in the C-suite and formal coach training to share his inspirational personal story and lessons learned about success, failure, resilience and overcoming personal limitations.  Kevin’s coaching focuses on guiding individuals and businesses through their next stage of growth and unlocking hidden potential. 

Kevin started his career at EY where he acquired his CPA certification and began a journey beyond what he could have anticipated.

Kevin has been married for 37 years to his amazing wife Claudia.  They have three children and one grandchild and reside in Fairfield, Connecticut USA
