Speaker: John Jamison, Technology Risk Services Partner, Calvetti Ferguson

Presentation:
Participants will be provided with an understanding of recent notable cyber incidents such as the SolarWinds breach, as well as cases of Ransomware infection and Business Email Compromise. Strategies for effectively managing these threats will be examined. Vendor risk management strategies and the AICPA’s release of the new SOC for Supply Chain reporting framework will also be discussed. Additionally, emerging technologies such as homomorphic encryption and the impact of artificial intelligence and machine learning on finance and tax functions will likewise be reviewed.

Speaker's bio:
John is the Partner-in-Charge of the Technology Risk Services practice at Calvetti Ferguson. With nearly two decades of experience in public accounting, he has served clients in a variety of industries providing a wide array of assurance and advisory services. John has also served as the Chief Information Officer at several organizations in both a fractional and full-time capacity. John specializes in SOC reporting, IT General Controls review, IT Risk Assessment and Fractional CIO services.

John holds an undergraduate degree in Management Information Systems (MIS) from Texas A&M University, and an MBA from Texas A&M University – Commerce. He maintains his Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) and Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certifications. John is also on the faculty at Texas A&M University – Commerce and provides instruction in the areas of IT Audit and Cybersecurity.
