After studying business administration in Stuttgart, Michael Klumpp began his career in controlling at MTU Munich, a manufacturer of engines for the aviation industry. He first came into contact with mergers and acquisitions as an assistant to the management of a leading German construction group during the takeover of several construction companies. He then worked for four years in Frankfurt at the German branch of the US software company Hyperion - most recently as head of a team of 40 IT consultants. At the end of the 1990s, he moved to Düsseldorf to join the German branch of a British M&A boutique specializing in software and IT services. He led several major acquisitions from international buyers and advised founders selling their companies. After being Managing Director of a German management consultancy, he co-founded KP Tech with Sandra Preuss in May 2003. KP Tech is a leading German M&A boutique for medium-sized companies, focusing on various technology sectors. In total, KP Tech has successfully completed more than 90 M&A deals - mostly cross-border - with a transaction volume of more than USD 1 billion. KP Tech is part of the Cornerstone International Alliance with more 33 M&A boutiques in the US, Europe, Asia and South America.
