Do you want to look into the future of our area? Please join us on Tuesday March 19 for dinner and an overview of the Truckee Meadows growth plan for the next 20 years. Kim Robinson, Executive Director of the Truckee Meadows Regional Planning Agency (TMRPA) will give us her vision of how our area might develop over the next 20 years. Reno, Sparks and Washoe County work together, with coordination and input from the TMRPA, to ensure comprehensive and innovative approaches for economic development and community planning including infrastructure, schools and other key growth factors.

The Truckee Meadows Regional Planning Agency is committed to supporting comprehensive and innovative approaches for economic development and community planning for the cities of Reno and Sparks, as well as Washoe County. In addition to facilitating land-use, infrastructure provision and resource management conversations among public and private decision makers, TMRPA also serves as a collaborative information and data warehouse, coordinating regional data collection and delivering advanced geospatial analytics for regional solutions.

Speaker's bio:
Kim has over 20 years of professional planning experience. Kim has been with TMRPA since late 2011, when she was appointed the Director of the agency. Under her leadership, TMRPA has won a Community Partner award from the Economic Development Authority of Western Nevada (EDAWN), a “Planning for Economic and Fiscal Health” technical assistance award from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, and was identified in the 2013 IBM Smarter Cities Reno report as the lead agency to develop a regional data warehouse.

Kim holds a Master in Urban Planning (MUP) degree from the University of Michigan, as well as graduating cum laude from the Honors Program at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas with a Bachelor of Science degree in Hotel Administration.
