About the speaker:
Deborah Lauchner, Director of Finance for the City of Reno, was appointed to this position in February 2018. Mrs. Lauchner has over 20 years’ experience in managing fiscal operations of city and county governments. Prior to joining the City of Reno, Mrs. Lauchner worked for the City of Santa Rosa as Chief Financial Officer. She previously worked as Finance Director for the City of Vallejo and as Finance Services Manager for the cities of Novato and Rohnert Park where she managed the budgets and financial reporting. Prior to that, Mrs. Lauchner worked for the County of Santa Cruz and the United States Department of Agriculture.

After working as a credit manager in the Federal government Ms. Lauchner moved to local government as the Assistant Treasurer-Tax Collector in Santa Cruz County. She has worked in city government for the last eighteen years serving as the senior financial manager in Rohnert Park and Novato and the finance department director for the cities of Vallejo and Santa Rosa. Those cities have dealt with difficult budget problems like those facing Reno today. Deborah has made important contributions to help them improve their financial health and bond ratings.
