Topic: Minor Leagues, Major Lessons: Maximizing Your Transition
Speaker: Matt Morizio, Financial Advisor, Beck Bode
Presentation:
- Life lessons as a minor leaguer
- What distinguishes a minor leaguer from a big leaguer, and how that transcends in business
- How to apply these skills when transitioning to different industries
- Since many members are in the process of undergoing a “transition”, this will provide them with an idea of the skills and lessons they can apply in order to be successful, from someone who has “been there” and “done it”!
Speaker's bio:
As a five year old, Matt dreamed of playing professional baseball - a dream that eventually became a reality. He spent five years in the minor leagues with the Kansas City Royals, four as a catcher and one as a pitcher, playing alongside current big leaguers like Eric Hosmer and Mike Moustakas and learning from Hall of Famers like George Brett and Brett Saberhagen. During those years, he learned what it takes to go from good to great, and from great to elite. He used that experience to earn top performer status in just a couple years at Kforce, where he ran Burlington’s temporary finance and accounting staffing division. Today, he’s a financial advisor for Beck Bode, an independent wealth management firm in Dedham, and is building their athlete division.
