Using the Agile Audit as the perfect example, we will explain business agility and how to apply the Agile principles and technology enablers to transform departments and teams into value creation centers.

Speakers' bios:

Ian Burnett:
Ian is an experienced executive in the delivery of governance, risk and compliance services. Since joining RGP in 2019, Ian leads the company’s efforts to develop and enhance capabilities to deliver value to our clients regarding internal audit & compliance related solutions.

Relevant Business Experience:
Ian has more than 25 years of hands-on, practical experience in internal audit, SOX, and other regulatory and leading practice compliance matters. During his career, Ian has helped numerous clients to identify and manage their enterprise risks through recommendations for robust internal controls for internal audit and compliance purposes as well as for optimal operational efficiency and effectiveness.

Prior to RGP, Ian served as a director in RSM’s risk consulting practice. Ian also previously worked for Deloitte and KPMG’s risk advisory practice areas and has held leadership roles in corporate audit departments in industry. Ian has broad industry experience with primary focus on financial services and consumer and industrial products. Ian has been involved with Sarbanes-Oxley Internal Control over Financial Reporting advisory services since inception of the Act in 2002.

Ian serves on The Institute of Internal Auditors Atlanta chapter Board of Governors and serves as an ISACA Atlanta chapter Board member.

Kristen Darby:
Kristen leads RGP’s Business Agility practice focused on assisting clients transform to new ways of working. With over 15+ years of consulting and business experience, Kristen uses her expertise in Agile transformation, business strategy, and marketing to help organizations achieve business outcomes.

Relevant Business Experience:
Throughout her 12+ year career at Hitachi Consulting, Kristen was a leader in the Information Management arena responsible for Agile, Innovation, User Experience, and Customer Experience. After years of client success as a consultant, she became a leader in Hitachi Social Innovation Business focused on using emerging technology to solve societal challenges. Kristen is serial intra/entrepreneur and has successfully launched multiple businesses/products. She serves on the advisory board for Women’s Business Center as well as works as a mentor & coach for business accelerator programs. Kristen is an active member in the DFW Alliance of Technology & Women where she is currently leading a 9-month Women’s Leadership Program.

Through her consulting and community work, Kristen has established herself as a passionate business leader and advocate for agility, innovation, and design thinking. Kristen holds an MBA from St. Edward’s University and a B.A. from the University of Texas at Austin.

In her spare time, Kristen enjoys spending time with family and friends around the globe, scuba diving, and hiking.
