Topic: Effectively Handling the Most Critical Interview Questions – Part 2
Speaker: Jim Ashworth, Managing Partner, Ashworth, Tomerlin & Associates, LLC
Agenda:
- 5:30 pm - 6:00 pm: Networking
- 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm: Program
- 7:30 pm - 8:00 pm: Optional Networking
Presentation:
In placing over 1,200 business professionals over the last 35 years, Jim Ashworth has conducted and documented over 5,000 interview follow-ups. Very simply, he has learned that there are four areas of an interview that will determine which of typically 3-5 candidates will get hired.
In Part 2 of this two-part program, Jim will explain why traditional answers don’t work and how to more effectively handle these questions. Jim plans to conduct multiple role plays so our guests can experience the differences and more positive outcomes.
Speaker's bio:

Our group is unusual because we have combined the two separate groups, The FENG Dallas & the Dallas Chapter FEI Member Career Services Committee, into the Dallas Chapter of the FEI/FENG to help any qualified senior financial executive that is looking for a job.
We currently have 2,306 FENG members as part of this group.
MEETINGS
We get together once a month. We occasionally have guest speakers. The bulk of the meetings are to network, meet new members, share leads and go over updates on leads. It is a no-pressure casual meeting where members can join in fellowship to discuss things.
The normal schedule for the monthly meetings of the Dallas Chapter of the FEI/FENG is the third Tuesday of the month at 5:30 pm unless otherwise noted.
Call Bob Walker, Dallas and Fort Worth Chapter Chair of the FENG/FEI, with any questions at (214) 532-1152
You are most welcome to attend.
There are many ways to benefit from the FENG/FEI and there are many ways to take part. As usual in life, the more you take part, the more you get out of it. What really makes the FENG/FEI flow is everyone's participation.
The purpose of our chapter meetings is to offer an invaluable opportunity for you to create a sharp focus of your background with the other members.
In order to further this goal, you are asked to do the following:
1. Bring a name badge to the meeting. Print your name badge in the largest type possible. To print a name tag: Log on to the website and go to the “Resources” link. Then scroll down to “Documents Library.” From there click on “Other Useful Documents.” Then scroll down to “The FENG’s Name Badge.” If you wish to print a tent card, follow the directions and pick “The FENG’s Meeting Tent.”
2. Bring copies of your resume and business cards. I am always surprised and dismayed when new members come to our meetings without copies of their resume or a business card.
3. Polish your 90 second announcement. Ask a friend if it communicates who you are. Simple messages are best. Although most of us are more than willing to change industries, the reality is that jobs that fit are somehow related to our industry background. Listen to other's presentations and see if you can help them with their search. Can you make an introduction for them? Can you give them a mailing list? Can you recommend or loan them a copy of a book?
Try to get to know one or two people at each meeting. This makes the process more personal, and there is simply no substitute for this kind of personal contact.
MEMBER DIRECTORY SEARCH
After you log in with your password, go to “Membership” then “Member Directory Search.” You will only be able to view the first 100 members of the chapter. Therefore, we recommend choosing additional fields to hone in on the people you are looking for, and scroll down to the bottom and hit search.
See you at the next meeting !!!!
