Digital assets such as cryptocurrency have captivated attention as they have grown into a multi-trillion-dollar asset class. Cryptocurrency is maturing, and the days of the wild west are ending. Financial institutions are entering the space, and bringing along consumer protections, robust custody, and other attributes associated with mainstream investment vehicles. The speakers will provide information about the current state of the market, and where it is likely headed. Insights will be shared about how U.S. chartered banks are entering the market, and the opportunities digital asset technologies provide for improving the customer experience. 

Speakers’ Bios:

Gene A. Grant II, Chief Executive Officer and Chairman, LevelField Financial

LevelField is shortly to become the first full-service FDIC-insured chartered bank in the USA directly serving consumers who are interested in the digital asset class. Prior to founding LevelField, Gene was a Managing Director at BBVA. Gene has more than 33 years of experience including co-founding and serving as CEO of two FinTech startups, CEO of an established financial services software vendor, investment bank managing director, management consultant, and a period as a floor trader on a futures exchange.

As an entrepreneur, he started his first business at the age of 14, received a patent at 21, and listed his first financial services startup as an early-stage company on the AIM division of the London Stock Exchange at 29. His financial industry licenses and registrations include FINRA Series 24, 4, 7, and 66, and previous registrations as a Commodity Pool Operator, Floor Broker, and NFA member. He holds a BSc from the University of Manitoba.

Gene Grant III, Head of Products, LevelField Financial

An early enthusiast in digital assets, Gene has closely followed the evolution of the digital asset industry from the wild west days through to the present. He has conducted analysis and research across the industry.

A graduate of the University of Houston, during his final two years he worked full time in a client facing sales and teaching position. Routinely winning the monthly sales competitions, he exceled in customer satisfaction. Prior to joining LevelField he worked as a business process expert for the consolidation of two multinational firms after their legal merger.
