NIRI is More Than a Conference

To many investor relations professionals, “NIRI” means “conference,” as in “I’m going to NIRI this year!”  And while it’s true that this is the world’s largest annual conference for IR professionals, many don’t know the full scope of NIRI’s activities and its critical role in our capital markets.

NIRI: The Association for Investor Relations

Gary LaBranche, FASAE, CAE, is the President & CEO for the National Investor Relations Institute (NIRI), providing strategic executive leadership to advance NIRI’s mission and goals and representing NIRI to the SEC, Congress, the media, and other audiences. LaBranche has been an association professional for 40+ years and has served as CEO for three other organizations and as a senior executive at several others. The American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) named him the Key Award winner for 2007, the highest award in the association management profession. He was also the 2012 National Association Executive of the Year. The Association Forum named him the 2019 recipient of the Samuel B. Shapiro Award for Chief Executive Achievement. He is a member of the US Chamber’s Association Committee of 100.

Matthew D. Brusch, CAE, Chief Operating Officer

Matt Brusch is Chief Operating Officer for the National Investor Relations Institute (NIRI), leading the association’s professional development programs, publications and communications. His previous experience includes running the investor relations and corporate communications functions for several public companies and serving in regulatory and marketing roles with the Nasdaq Stock Market. Brusch began his career as a Surface Warfare Officer in the United States Navy and received the Navy Achievement Medal for superior performance. He holds an M.B.A. from the University of Maryland, a B.S. from the Pennsylvania State University, and he is a Certified Association Executive.
