Presentation:
The Control what you Can presentation is focused on leadership principles of Purchasing Leadership, based on book I authored.  I will be using the presentation slides as talking points to focus on best practice interaction between Finance/Accounting and Purchasing for maximum mutual benefit and project success. Topics range from Clear Requirements in defining what is required for complex and simple cross functional projects, focus on Solving Operational problems, which typically lead to savings and process improvement on both Accounting/Finance and Purchasing side.  Other key areas of focus include:

  • Approaching Risk from Finance/Accounting & related Purchasing perspective
  • Logistics and Hidden value
  • Earning a Seat at the Table
  • Catalyst of systems (Accounting, Finance & Purchasing)
  • Key concept of One Voice

Speaker's bio:

Peter Dill has over 25 years of Supply Chain experience with increasing levels of responsibility with global corporations including The United States Navy, General Motors, FMC Technologies, CEVA Logistics. CB&I and currently Huntsman.  He has lived/worked overseas for 16 years including Saudi Arabia, Japan, Germany, Japan and Brazil. He educational background includes B.S. Engineering Technology from Texas A & M University and MBA from Thunderbird. 

 

Peter is frequently invited to speak at regional and national conferences across several sectors including Supply Chain, Logistics, Oil and Gas, and Technology.  He is also a regular guest lecturer at various universities including The University of Houston and Texas A & M University, where his most recent book, Control what you Can: Principles of Purchasing and Supply Chain Leadership, is included in the required Supply Chain curriculum reading list.
