Topic: How are Family Offices and HNW/UHNW individuals leveraging Credit to meet Planning and Wealth Transfer objectives.

Family offices and UHNW individuals are taking full advantage of the low interest market. Doug Booth, WM Segment Manager, Specialty Finance Group and Chris Avery of the Private Bank at Wells Fargo will discuss strategies to: Manage Cash Flow, Limit Tax Exposure, Transfer Wealth, Create Liquidity and other real examples of Credit transactions the team has implemented for clients.

Chris is a Private Banker located in the Boston Wells Fargo Private Bank office. Mr. Avery works as part of a team to help meet high-net- worth clients’ comprehensive wealth management needs. In his role he specializes in developing and implementing tailored credit, deposit, and cash management strategies for clients.
Prior to joining Wells Fargo, Mr. Avery owned his own company for 3 years, where he helped businesses of many sizes manage credit and employee benefit needs. He has been in the financial services industry for more than ten years.
Mr. Avery earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Connecticut. He is also a member of Association for Corporate Growth in Boston.

Doug Boothe joined the Specialty Finance Group, a national coverage group within Wachovia’s (predecessor to Wells Fargo) Private Bank, in 2007 and is a WM Segment Manager for Family Office and Unique Solutions (e.g. Fine Art as well as complex securities such as concentrated stock, private stock, restricted stock, especially to Family Office profile clients). Doug has over 35 years of experience in the financial services industry, including over 20 years with Wells Fargo and its legacy organizations. In his current role, Doug is responsible for developing, vetting, and structuring loan opportunities within his segments, with a focus on delivering a quality experience for both his internal and external clients. He has considerable experience in lending on various semi-illiquid assets (e.g. alternative assets, fine art, etc.) and expertise in structuring and underwriting complex loans to high net worth individuals. In addition, Doug has extensive experience in structuring, underwriting, and syndicating loans to highly leveraged companies, mostly in the asset-based lending arena.
Doug graduated from the University of Virginia. After graduation, Doug held various credit/portfolio management positions with Maryland National Bank, Fleet National Bank, and Nationsbank, before joining First Union (predecessor to Wachovia Bank and Wells Fargo) in 1994.
