Yuliya Olsen | Manager | McKinsey & Company | Global Energy & Materials Practice

Yuliya Olsen is a Manager in McKinsey & Company’s Global Energy & Materials Practice, based in Houston, TX, with 9 years of experience in the energy industry. Yuliya focuses on counseling oil and gas companies and energy investors on strategy and operational topics, with a concentration on energy transition, ESG, and low carbon opportunities (e.g. H2, CCUS, RNG, solar, etc…) Yuliya holds a Bachelor’s degree in International Commerce from Texas A&M University, and has completed continued education programs through Cornell University, Sorbonne University of Paris, and most recently has obtained Berkeley’s Law ESG and Sustainable Capitalism certification. Yuliya is a former Chair of SPE’s and current board member of Finance & Investment Committee.

 

Ryan Nielson | Citi Bank 
Ryan Nielson is in Investment Banking  with the Citi Clean Energy Transition team in Houston, Texas. He previously worked at Credit Suisse in the Energy & Infrastructure investment banking group from 2018 - 2021. Ryan began his career with the United States Navy as a Nuclear Power Research Project Officer in Washington, D.C. (2011 – 2016). Ryan was responsible for reactor design, maintenance, operation, and disposal in Los Angeles Class submarines. Ryan holds an MBA from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth, a M.E. in Nuclear Engineering from Pennsylvania State University and a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Brigham Young University.

 

Grace Chan | BP Ventures

Grace Chan is at bp ventures, based in Houston, Texas. She focuses on the commercial aspects of venture deals and provides support across multiple sectors. Her primary responsibilities include handling the due diligence process and portfolio management. Grace holds board observers seats at BiSN Technologies and Zippity.

With a background in finance, Grace has held various planning and commercial roles at several BP asset sites in the US and Africa. While on assignment in London, she helped BP build new ventures in Africa, where she subsequently discovered her passion for fast-paced growth environments. Grace is passionate about helping to accelerate BP’s transition to a net zero company by making strategic venture capital investments.

Grace is fluent in Chinese and also picked up some French during her year of studying in France. On weekends there is a good chance that you’ll find her exploring the open roads of Texas in an RV with her husband and two kids.

 

Stephanie Moroz | Investment Principal | Baker Hughes Ventures 

Stephanie Moroz is the investment principal at Baker Hughes, based in Houston, Texas. In this role, she is responsible for developing the investment thesis & strategy and opportunity assessment, globally, for Baker Hughes New Frontiers. Leaning on her knowledge as an environmental scientist and background in strategy and business development, she brings the technical and commercial capabilities to grow innovative businesses and champion the advancement and convergence of the environment, energy, & technology. Prior to joining Baker Hughes, Stephanie held a number of positions as an environmental scientist, working closely with various governmental agencies, and specializing in air quality & emissions. She holds a bachelor’s degree in bioenvironmental sciences from Texas A&M University.
