Presentation: 

At this high energy presentation, you will learn about and walk away with: - Tools to increase your confidence and present yourself better in a critical interview or meeting; including, tips on networking, executive presence online and in person, and deep breathing exercises to center your mind. - An understanding of visualization and why it matters in the job search, interview process and in goal setting in general. - How to build a vision board. - Visualization skills in advance of the important interaction or presentation that will empower you to achieve your desired outcome. 

 

Speaker’s Bio:

Heather Lam is the Vice President of Retained Search at Gierke Jungbauer Human Capital (GJHC), bringing over 25 years of experience in delivering impactful results for organizations ranging from start-ups to large enterprises across various industries, including insurance, oil and gas, advertising, wellness, and pharmaceuticals. She excels in business development, consulting, and coaching, driving significant behavior change and strategic initiatives for senior leaders globally. In addition to her role at GJHC, Heather volunteers as a coach with UpTurnships and previously mentored at Minnesota Adult & Teen Challenge. Her diverse background also includes a successful side-hustle as a contract on-camera spokesperson and commercial actress, with appearances in numerous regional and national campaigns. Married to Bob for over 21 years, Heather is a proud mom to Luke (18), Brady (17), and their labradoodle, Gryffin (7).

Chapter Description

1. What is The Women's SIG about?

The mission of The Women’s SIG is to have an environment conducive to developing relationships and making friends who will help each other throughout their careers and job searches. This is NOT a women-only club. All FENG members are welcome to join the SIG and attend our meetings.

2. How are we organized?

Programming is overseen by a Steering Committee consisting of up to 5 Co-Chairs. The current Co-Chairs are:

3. MEETINGS:

We meet by Zoom generally on the third Wednesday of each month from 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM US Eastern Time unless otherwise noted. Occasionally, we schedule special programming or extend the duration of a meeting.

Twice a year we have a meeting devoted to networking using Zoom Breakout Rooms. Other meetings have a speaker addressing a variety of career, job search and other topics of professional development.

We take a hiatus in August.

4. MEETING REGISTRATION

You must register on The FENG website on the Women’s SIG Landing Page by noon, the day before the meeting @ https://www.thefeng.org/special-interest-groups/women-s/133

You will be sent the Zoom link late afternoon the day before the meeting. If you do not receive the Zoom link, please check your SPAM FOLDER. If you still can’t find it, you have until 8:00 AM the day of the meeting to write to:

In the event you do miss the meeting, all meetings are recorded (unless the speaker denies permission) and links to recordings are sent out to all those who registered for the meeting within 1 week of the date of the meeting.
