Speaker: Kunal Chaudhary, Partner, Ernst and Young - Indirect Tax India

Presentation:
Given the recent push for manufacturing in India both Centre Government and State Government have introduced a set of incentive policies. During the session we would cover the following:

- Production Linked Incentive: A new regime of inventive policies have been introduced for 13 key sectors where the incentives are linked to incremental production and investment

- State Government: Various states have incentives policies for promoting investment in the states covering from subsidized land, reduced power tariffs

Speaker's bio:
Kunal Chaudhary is a Partner with Ernst and Young India’s Indirect Tax practice,  Kunal joined Ernst & Young in 2006 and is based in the Gurgaon office.  Prior to joining Ernst & Young, Kunal has worked with GE Capital and PricewaterhouseCoopers.  He is a qualified Chartered Accountant and has more than 16 years of post-qualification experience in tax consulting 

Skills:
- Kunal has a substantial amount of experience in transitioning clients to GST/VAT from a sale tax regime, reviewing business models of various domestic and multinational companies to optimise tax - He has been actively advising several companies in the telecom, electronics, ecommerce and technology industries in a host of indirect tax issues ranging from custom/ excise to Service tax and VAT/CST implication to Anti dumping proceedings etc 

Professional experience: 
- Kunal has successfully advised clients in structuring their business operations from a supply chain and indirect tax perspective 
- Advising and representing various industrial bodies/ associations on matters concerning GST 
- He has extensive experience in assisted clients in GST/VAT transitions, setting up manufacturing facilities in India and managing large GST/VAT outsourcing engagements 
- He has been involved in model structuring options including Advising clients on various state and central government incentives 
- Kunal regularly participates as technical speaker at various tax conferences on indirect tax and GST issues 
- He was also a core member of EY team advising Fast Track Task Force set up by MEiTY and led by ICA on re-establishing handset manufacturing and component ecosystem in India 
- He has assisted clients in setting-up and operationalization of Special economic Zones 
- He has been managing indirect tax advisory and compliances for various multinational companies 
- Actively assisting and advising on Foreign Trade policy related benefits available to various multinational companies
- He also supported in creating the Customs and Import Regulatory framework for the first Formula 1 race in India 
- Additionally, he has been actively representing clients in various Anti dumping proceedings, VAT and service tax proceedings
