Topic: Entrepreneurship in the Triangle

In this session, Scot will recap his four start-up experiences and his journey from Aiken, SC to IPO.  Scot’s passion project is encouraging, supporting and growing the Triangle’s startup ecosystem.  In 2015 he introduced the Triangle Tweener List to shine a spotlight in the ‘up and coming’ companies in the region.  Based on the data revealed by the Tweener List, in 2022 he started the sister investment company, the Triangle Tweener Fund that utilizes a unique ‘index strategy’ for private companies.  The Tweener Fund makes small investments only in venture backed Triangle headquartered companies.  To date they have deployed over $8m into 130 Triangle companies and enjoyed 2 exits already. The Tweener Fund is a new vehicle called a rolling fund which means it’s always open for new investors.  The Tweener fund is for accredited investors and purposefully has a low entry point of $20k/yr to encourage more investors to engage in angel investing.

We’ll have plenty of time for a dynamic audience-led Q+A / discussion on these topics and more!
