Topic: Making a Career Pivot

Speaker: Sharon Richter, member of The FENG and President of FocalPoint Coaching & Training

Presentation:
Many professionals will work in the same profession their whole careers and be comfortable. Others may wonder if they will be happier in a totally different career.

Sharon Richter, President of FocalPoint Coaching & Training, will share her personal and professional experience to making a career pivot less daunting by suggesting who could benefit, steps to take, and how to execute a career pivot.

Speaker's bio:
Sharon is a Business and Executive Coach and Area Representative in New York City. Sharon has had a successful career developing and refining her expertise as a senior financial, operations, and strategy executive in public accounting, Wall Street, and higher education. Building on experience in corporate and accomplishing several career pivots, she now coaches business professionals to achieve their goals. Sharon offers a wide range of programs and services – one-on-one coaching, group coaching, workshops, and assessments – to conquer organizational challenges creatively, develop business strategies, and execute plans for accomplishing goals and achieving financial targets.

Sharon has a B.S. in Accounting from Lehigh University and M.S. in Taxation from Temple University. She is a Certified Public Accountant, and a Black Belt in Six Sigma, a set of techniques and tools for process improvement. She has been a volunteer in a variety of capacities at Lehigh, serving as a University Trustee and board level director for over 25 years providing advice on policy, implementing strategies, and achieving goals. She currently serves as the Secretary of the NYC Chapter of the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO), is the Treasurer of her co-op building in Manhattan, and supports the neighborhood elementary school efforts and Girl Scout Troop with her budget and organizational expertise. Sharon is a member of the NYC chapter of the FENG.
