Sandy Petty & Avani Doshi came to The FENG the "normal" way - during their job searches - but neither of them expects to be in transition ever again! One by accident and the other with intent, they both founded their own consulting firms and have found it to be highly rewarding, albeit with its fair share of challenges. Against the backdrop of their respective journeys, Sandy and Avani will discuss the pros and cons of independent consulting as a career choice.

Avani Doshi: 

Avani is the Founder and Principal of A. Doshi LLC, an advisory firm to companies that seek to establish business operations in India and also provides Fractional CFO services.

A CPA and fluent in 3 Indian languages, Avani has business roots from growing up in a business focused entrepreneurial family in India and client service experience from 20+ years of working in the United States in public accounting and industry, including at companies such as KPMG and Goodyear.

Avani provides customized solutions that enable her clients to achieve their business goals, leveraging the tools and techniques deployed by large corporations with the long-term perspectives and immediate priorities of owner-managed small and mid-sized businesses. Additionally, having worked on the ground in India and China for 10+ years and with individuals from diverse cultures and backgrounds from all over the world, she is able to seamlessly navigate across American and Asian cultures, business environments and geographies.

Her expertise covers the span of corporate finance functions, collaborating with cross-functional leaders, managing large teams and enabling succession planning.
 

Sandy Petty:
Sandy is a trusted advisor to company presidents and is known for her ability to build financial infrastructures and high performing teams. She brings over 30 years of accounting and finance experience, having served companies in every growth stage: from startup to companies experiencing exponential growth, to fortune companies. She is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA) and is an Advanced Certified QuickBooks Online ProAdvisor. She is also certified in Human Resources with her SHRM-CP and PHR.

Sandy is the Chief Financial Officer and Managing Partner of Executive Financial Partners, LLC, a virtual boutique accounting firm primarily serving women owned businesses with revenues in the $1M-$5M range.
